About Staff For Students For Parents For Teachers Contact

We are collecting inkjet cartridges and used electronics (digital cameras, MP3, GPS, laptops, cell phones, etc.) to "sell" to a recycling company. All monies earned will be donated towards our school's "Project Playground."

Drop off any of the items at our school's collection station located in the front stairwell near the guidance office or send the items to school with your child. Each bin is labeled so it will be obvious where to place the donations.

Please share this information with your family, friends & community members.
The more we recycle, the more money we will receive.

We are also collecting athletic shoes and pull tabs from soda cans for the Ronald McDonald House. The "house" is also located in the front stairwell. Please save your pull tabs and send them to school with your child or drop them off yourself. The athletic shoes will be delivered to the Habitat for Humanity Re-store.

With the help of grant monies, bins were purchased for our students to recycle "white" paper from our school. Students are responsible for carrying the bins to our dumpster. Cardboard from our cafeteria, office, and classrooms is also collected and goes into the large dumpster, too. Then both are picked up by MORS recycling. In our school cafeteria, we are recycling plastic bottles, aluminum cans, and "Capri Sun" drink pouches. The aluminum cans are donated to a local scout troup that uses the monies for their activities. The Capri Sun drink pouches are donated to Gilbert Primary School to be sent to Terracycle. Plastic bottles are delivered by PTA members to the Lexington County Recycling Center. We also are participating in A,B,C composting. That means we're collecting apples, bananas, and carrots from lunchroom waste to add to our composter. The compost is being used in our Carolina Fence Garden.

We created our Carolina Fence Garden to do our part to help save Planet Earth. Plants produce oxygen which is important to humans and animals. Another thing that makes our garden extra special is that every plant we put in the garden is indigenous to South Carolina. That's why it's called the Carolina Fence Garden.
